A vital magnet company

Your European partner in high-quality permanent magnets

Neorem Magnets Oy is a Finnish company manufacturing sintered NdFeB permanent magnets and magnet assemblies under the Hitachi Metals’ license. We are a part of the German Vacuumschmelze GmbH & Co. KG and have our factory and head office in Ulvila, Finland.

We are specialised in the production of NdFeB magnets and pole elements for large electric motors and generators, especially for renewable energy applications. Our strength lies in our extensive experience in manufacturing big magnets, difficult shapes and assemblies with highly-automated processes.

Our magnets are also used, for example, in servo and linear motors and in mobile equipment.

Personnel committed to occupational safety

The personnel at Neorem Magnets are committed to developing occupational safety on a daily basis through safety improvement suggestions, which are then analysed and implemented collectively to improve the overall working environment. Occupational safety issues are handled in every day discussions.

Since its acquisition, Neorem Magnets has been playing an important role in expanding our leverage –especially in large magnets.

Our vision and mission

Our vision is to help the Earth to become a better place to live. It is of great importance to us to participate in the fight against climate change.

Our mission is to manufacture high-quality NdFeB permanent magnets in close co-operation with the customers in order to find the most suitable and cost-effective solution.

Milestones

Neorem Magnets Oy was founded in 1995, but our roots lie further in the past. Our predecessor, Outokumpu Magnets Oy, was established in 1988 as a part of Outokumpu, a global multimetal company. We have manufactured sintered NdFeB magnets under the Hitachi Metals’ license (Sumitomo license at the time of acquisition) since 1991.

In 2004, we were also one of the founding partners of the Magnet Technology Centre in Pori. This research centre is situated in the vicinity of Neorem Magnets, strengthening local expertise in magnet technology.

In 2007, Neorem Magnets became a part of Vacuumschmelze GmbH & Co. KG. With this transaction the position of European NdFeB magnet production became stronger than ever.
